Città eterna.

“All roads leads to Rome” – there is a reason for this expression. Rome is one of the nicest cities in the world – according to us, with all its history, ancient buildings and sculptures, mixed with modern restaurants, shopping and city pulse.

If you are a first time tourist in Rome, you need at least one week, since the city is huge and the “must sees” are spread out.

Obviously you have to visit:

• Colosseo. Massive to see from the outside and also nice to see from inside, at least one time in your life. Of course a view inside costs extra money and usually it’s a lot of people. If you have time however, enjoy it.

• Foro Romanum. You can both stand outside and have a nice view over these ancient ruins, or you pay some money and stroll around inside for a closer look.

• Palatino / Circo Massimo.

• Fontana di trevi. The mother of all fountains! Bring coins, do like everybody else – flip a coin over your shoulder and you will return to Rome one day 😄

Other places to visit is for example; The spanish steps, Piazza Venezia, Pantheon, Castel Sant’Angelo and of course the Vatican!

Nice areas to just walk around in and breath in the Roman air;

Trastevere, Piazza Navona, Rione Monti and Campo de’fiori. Why not in the afternoon and stop for an aperitivo?! – at “Bar della pace” near Piazza Navona, for example. Good nightlife you will find at ponte Milvio, where it’s mostly locals around.

Villa Ada and Villa Borgese, the parks out of and in the city center are nice for city breaks. And one of our favorite places that is a must go to: Giardino degli aranci, with a nice view over Rome.

If you are looking for nice architecture: quartiere Coppedé.

How about food?

Avoid the touristic places, in Rome you should try to find real genuine restaurants where the locals go, if you ask us.
